WHAT IS RESTYLANE® AND PERLANE®?

The Restylane® family of products includes Restylane® and Perlane®. They are both cosmetic fillers that replace lost volume and instantly restore youthful contours to fine and moderate lines.

Dr. Christine Uses Restylane® and Perlane® for:

Laugh Lines
Marionette Lines
Eye rejuvenation
Lip Contouring
Lip Volumizing
Facial Wrinkles
Scar Revision

Restylane® and Perlane® are made from Hyalurnic acid (HA). HA is a natural substance in the human body that provides volume and fullness to our skin.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RESTYLANE® AND PERLANE®?

The only difference between them is that Perlane® gel particles are larger and intended for deeper folds. Dr. Christine will make a recommendation on how to achieve your best result during your complementary consultation.

After wrinkle reduction with Botox®, a cosmetic filler may be used to smooth out the appearance of more resistant lines for a more flawless look.

WHAT IS EYE REJUVENATION?

In eye rejuvenation, Dr. Christine uses Restylane® and Perlane® to fill in eye hollows, eye wrinkles and contour the brow. This simple procedure yields a more youthful and rested appearance in less than thirty minutes.

HOW LONG WILL RESTYLANE® AND PERLANE® LAST?

Restylane® products have been clinically shown to last between 4 and 6 months. Perlane® has been shown to last at least 6 months. Patient’s results can vary depending upon their metabolism of the product.

PRE-TREAMENT INSTRUCTIONS:

A few precautions should be taken before any injections. Avoid using aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, St. John’s wort, or high doses of vitamin E supplements prior to treatment. These medications may increase the risk of bruising or bleeding at the injection site. Also, if you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, Dr. Christine may prescribe a medication to minimize recurrence.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER A RESTYLANE® OR PERLANE® TREATMENT?

Restylane® and Perlane ®usually provides up to 80 percent improvement immediately after treatment. Restylane® and Perlane® injections are a simple, outpatient procedure performed under a topical local anesthetic.

There may be minimal swelling, which usually subsides in 24 to 36 hours and although infrequent; there may also be some discomfort and bruising. Any discomfort can be managed with medications. Normal activities can be resumed immediately; however, patients are advised to stay out of the sun.
